  1. My shadow has a name, the rebel….its a constant battle of I want to, but don’t, I will but can’t, I should, but didn’t…goes on and on and on. This really hits home for me, took me years to understand the terrible fight I was in for all my life against my shadow. Thank you for this post, it helps remind, we must stay vigilant against that side of us. And I believe we all have a shadow, whether you are aware or not. xxxkat

  2. I call it embracing your inner weird. 🙂 It can be quite a painful experience at first, until facing it head on frees you from the taunts and barbs others try to make you own.

    Here’s an example:
    “Grandma, you smell weird!”
Son & DIL frozen in embarrassment.
Laughing, I reply, “I’m old. I’m supposed to smell weird.”
Two other generations laughing with me.

  3. “There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own Soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
