This gentle affectionate 9 year old captured my heart two years ago when I started walking him for my neighbor Lisa…
Lisa was Frasier human mama, sometimes she used to be running late and she would text me if I would walk him, his routine was 7:40 am, 12 noon and 4:30 pm. And many a time I used to walk Frasier at these times.
Every time he used to see me out side the garage he wanted to come in, but Lisa used to tell him I’m going to sleep now and he can’t visit! This phrase was for everyone and driveways he wanted to go in to.
Yesterday about one I was gardening and Lisa was walking Frasier but he was not himself. He was disoriented and confused, Lisa explained that she had giving him a pain medication that his vet had prescribed for his tooth( it needed to be removed next week) at 11 am and it must have taken affect. He didn’t want to leave me so I walked with him to his door said bye and came home and then…
About 2:50 Lisa called all upset that me that Frasier was throwing up and bleeding from his nose… I rushed to her home and he was unconscious, tried to do CPR but did not want to crush his ribs – we wrapped him into a towel and I sat with him in the back seat and Lisa drove to Emergency 10 minutes away, but his eyes started to glaze and as we got there, they took him out of my arms and put him on the table and 8 people went to work on him. No avail, he was gone!
Lisa was in shock, she couldn’t console herself how quick it had happened, the vet said that he died of congested heart failure!
How? Lisa had just taken him to cardiologist to make sure his heart was ok to do surgery of his tooth next week -$1,000 was the bill saying he was fine! And Frasier passes with heart failure?
We are all in pain and in shock of it!
I loved the little fella…
How sad. My condolences to you and your family.

I’m so sorry and send sympathy. It’s always hard to lose a pet but the sudden losses are the hardest.

My condolences, Solitaire. Losing a dog is among the most painful experiences. Nothing but loyalty, love and happiness from them. I wish Frasier peace as he crosses the rainbow bridge.

Very sad. My condolences to you and Lisa. Frasier was fortunate to have the company of two people who cared so for him. I want to say something sage, like “Docs and vets are people too, fallible.” But it just doesn’t sit well.
