Uber Ride

I ordered an Uber to go from my friends home to mine, an 11 minutes ride quite uncomplicated.

The Uber app has a visual of the actual ride and how the Uber reaches you ect. Watching this guy was fun trying to reach me… I wish there was a way to cancel…

My friends live in a complex with a security gate and various gates, wich are locked. The Uber app has a way to mis-direct the driver.

After a lot of attempts to reach the gate the driver finally made it to me.

I got in and asked does it have a Uber app? He totally ignored me… ( Ways is a better app) he turns then he made a right turn,

I explained that it’s kind of late to go play tennis at 8 pm! He made a u-turn and headed back on main road out of complex. I told please keep straight until you see security gate… he made a right turn towards swimming pool… he turned and finally he made it to gate. I suggested what he should do and he kept doing what he wanted.

Once we got on the parkway I explained to stay in right lane my exit is coming right up…

Totally ignored me! He noticed long line of cars leaving parkway via exit and tried to go around it… when no one wanted to let him in he started to pass the exit and I yelled “Stop! Or I call police for kidnapping me!” He stopped now I told him go back and get into that exit, we are not going further! He would have taken me out of my way and area with the next exit!

He finally aligned himself and made it through…

I did get home finally!

Here is where I’m a little puzzled:

If someone were to give you directions on how to reach a particular destination, or if you were to following the direction of a navigational devise, you probably wouldn’t question those directions.

If they turned out to be wrong, you wouldn’t really know what to change if your destination is in a completely unfamiliar area.

What makes someone ignore a person whose directions may be better that an app?

Stubbornness, or maybe I’m a female and the driver felt intimidated?

Regardless that’s my Uber ride from hell on Friday…
